An old shot from Etosha NP, Namibia. Jackals in this park must be among the most abundant predators anywhere in the planet. Something in the expression of this one caught my attention.

Ignacio,

I like the composition and pose of the jackal in this image. THe FG and BG colors compliment the animal well and the alert look right at you gives excellent eye contact. Well done.

I think this has worked very well and I like the pose and composition achieved here.

The pose is nice. It is good that you got the eyes in the clear. I like the perspective. How come you got such a high shutter speed?

Thanks Sabyasachi; good question, I wonder the same myself... Long time ago, I just copied the exif data from the file.

Great eye contact, with a nice low perspective Ignacio, well done here.

A nicely curious Jackal, with good POV.

Can I guess at a reason for high shutter speed Etosha nearly always has high incidental light from the white rocks, which are nicely blurred here.

Good guess, white predominates as a ground color in Etosha; the reflected light could sometimes be almost blinding, even on cloudy days. Often one has to overexpose almost as if it were snow.

Great comp and eye contact. Nice low angle. IMG is well exposed and sharp.
