Entomyzon cyanotis

This is an immature bird which has yet to develop the full blue facial skin.

Fantastic bird and image. Good feather details, comp, pose and perch. Like the trees in the bg, make's it more interesting then a blue with just sky.

Another new one for me, I like it! Perhaps a bit more detail can be extracted from the black under the chin (looks like its pretty blocked though), but all else looks great.

Very nice Gerard. I like the pose and position of the head. The colors in the face are wonderful. I like the bg too. I had the opportunity to see and photograph this species when I visited Australia. Cool bird! Since, you had plenty of light, I think it would heave helped to stop down more. This may have allowed you to get the bird's tail and the bottom of the branch in focus. A lot of DOF is needed when photographing small birds large in the frame, particularly at very long focal lengths.

I am enjoying this one immensely as presented. Amazing colors and I love the head position. If it fits with your personal ethics you might consider getting rid of the nub on the branch in front of the bird and smoothing/shortening the jagged one by the far rear claw. All in all superb.
