From Costa Rica, a pair of Green-Crowned Brilliant Hummingbirds. This image was captured near Bosque de Paz, at a location with tons of beautiful flowers and lots of hummingbirds. You can't miss with that combination!

I like the interaction in this one. I also like the clean BG and flowers. A real beauty Doug!

Great interaction, Doug. Maybe just a touch more room above as to my eye there is no room for the top bird to sit up on the perch so looks cramped.

Nice interaction. Kind of reminds me of The Brady Bunch opening theme or Hollywood Squares.
Agree, re: more room at the top.

One up - One Down - Flowers Left - Flowers right.
A tad tight maybe - but different and Like it!!!!!!

Superb image - love the colours and the interaction, I think possibly just a little tight in the frame.

The image tells a nice story and works for me. I agree on abit more space on top.

Very very fine. That pretty greenish background could easily be extended for a little more space at top and bottom.

Thanks for the input everyone. I cropped the way I did to eliminate something in the ULC without resorting to cloning. I was curious to see if it worked for people. Appreciate the honest opinions!

Oh My.....You sure did not miss on this one! I wonder what these birds were thinking? You could have fun with story lines on this one. A very intriging image of hummingbird behavior. Thanks for sharing this fine image! :)

Hey Doug, a great image. The head positions give this a strong emotional feel. My small nit is the perches. They look like they grow upright, and look a bit odd horizontal. All these years looking at your great work, I finally find a nit ;-)

Hi, Doug. I remember this one and how lucky you were to get these two in the frame. Alan, I thought I would comment since I was with Doug when he took this, and you are correct that we did force the branches a bit into the position we wanted for the image composition. Some stems grow more upright, but others do hang horizontal where the birds would come from underneath. By the way, this is a cloud forest shrub in the Ericaceae (blueberry/cranberry) family

Cheers,
Greg
