Good job on handling the whites and the red face draws my attention right into the picture -- nicely presented

Sure is sharp and great wing position, a bit more room top right hand corner around the wing would have been nice.

Love the sharpness and detail on this image. Great wing position too.

What an interesting subject! I've been known to photography a Spoonbill or two, but all of mine are pink:).
Tack sharp, beautiful light, exposure and background.
I agree with Art, a little more room top right corner would make this an even stronger image.

Was the background slopped or is the horizon off axis?

Thanks for the useful input everyone. I did indeed overlook the fact that the bg was skew. Here is a repost with a slight levels adjustment.

On the original I also did some bg cleanup which I'll leave as it was in the repost.

You nailed the exposure, and quite sharp as posted! I prefer the warmer WB of the repost, but the BG clean up was well done in the first...although I'd also tone down the dark area touching the near wing.

I like the redo. Interesting to see a white spoonbill.

Stephen,

Very nice indeed, I would love to have it.

I thought Spoonbills were white:confused:

Excellent job, Stephen. Repost is a good improvement. Interesting to see folks finding white spoonbills exotic looking - I always find the pink ones exotic!:D
