Got my camera back on Thursday from having the sub-mirror fix done (after sending it out on Monday - 4 days door to door, well done Canon UK!). Seems to be working ok but have yet to do a really thorough test. This is one of my 10 month old German Shepherd "puppy" Scrumpy, created yesterday. He's an absolute delight and loves nothing more than a run in the woods :)

His head looks a little blown, but the histogram looks ok and it looks better in the larger image.

Canon 1D Mark III, 70-200mm IS f/2.8 @ 200mm, 1/400 @ f/5.6, ISO 400 (overcast conditions, hand held).

Whilst calibrating a few more of my lens combinations this morning I noticed that things are definitely improved. Before the fix, when using AI Servo to focus on the calibration chart, the focus would occasionally jump about even though it was a static subject and the camera was on a tripod (it even took a few out of focus images). Today it locked on and was rock solid, no jumping around regardless of how hard I tried to make it do so.

So far, so good... :)
