I have not been out shooting for 3 weeks and finally gone out with some friends to get some shots of these guys.
It was a cloudy day and luckily I brought my D3s and took advantage of the ISO capability of this machine.
There are not many natural perch they land on, either on the road side or on the fence post.
All comments and critiques are welcome.

D3s + 600 VR + 1.4TC on a bean bag.

Good pose and looks well focussed with nice BG and soft light, Troy. May be worth adding a little more space and decentreing the bird in the comp. Could probably stand a little more sharpening for web. Great result at ISO 2500. With the comp as presented I am not seeing why +1.3 EC but the result looks good.

Soft light, nice HA for the over the shoulder pose with enough d-o-f. Well done.

Very nice work. I really like the background and the soft light works well, just enough to put a little somethin' in his eye. I like the bit of red on his beak from (I'm assuming) a recent meal.

Nice pose and sharpness. The background color seems a bit over saturated but that is a personal preference.

Thank you all.
Tony, I will recrop to have more room and off center a bit.
Michael, as for saturation, lighting was not that good. I did a blackpoint on the eye. No saturation applied.

Outstanding IQ and a very nice pose. Some more space and this will be perfect.
