Well, that is my quiestion, I have a MarkIIN and I am thinking of selling it to get myself a 7D, do you guys think this would be a good move or a bad one? Thanks!

Anyone else with an opinion?

Surely depends on what you shoot and what type of lens' are used. The 1D will give you autofocus with 2x teleconverter if focal distance is important, do you need that? What features of the 7D attract you over the 1D and why? Video? 18MP? 1.6x crop factor?

Hi Jim, I will be using a 300mm f2.8 IS with a 1.4tc, what I like is the 1.6 crop factor and the 18mp, the video option is a nice plus, also, the thing is that, at least my MarkIIN body, is not great at high ISO. I shoot mostly birds but wildlife in general and outdoor sports.

That'll be a great setup with the 7D. I use mine with a 500mm f/4 and the 1.4x TC and get very good AF speed and accuracy. You might even be able to use the 2x TC with an f/2.8 lens.

I have a 1D II & 7D and I have not used the 1DII since I got the 7D (which was from day 1 of its release), still prefer the feel / layout of the 1D but the IQ of the 7D is far beyond the 1DII

Ok, thank you guys, I guess IŽll just do it and go for the 7D. I do love the 1D feel, but well... IŽll have to get use to miss it LOL. I apreciate all you help.

In my case it took a little getting used too on the 7D. The focusing is different than any of the others, and it is pretty decent at high ISO, just be sure to expose right with it. Doug Brown has a page up with some pretty good settings for BIF.
