Wonderful portrait of one of my favorite birds. This might make a great vertical as well. I might lighten the eye just a bit.

Pretty little guy -- but background a bit splotchy for my tastes -- I might try to demphasize the BG by desaturating yellows - just to see what it would look like -- might reduce the greens closer to the greyish color in the BG --

Love the detail and the careful COMP. Head turn here is perfect for this pose and COMP.

Very cool bird. I love these especially their call for which they are famous. Good detail, good HA and good BG. Would crop in a little tigher if this were mine, basically a matter of preference. Well done!

Thanks for looking and for the comments. I am lucky enough to be greeted each morning from about an hour before sunrise by these happy birds!
Morkel, I hope you haven't spoiled your Kooka bat with cherries on the bird, and not too many on the edges :)
