The tufted puffin was flying off of cliffs, on St. Paul Island in the Pribilof's. They were more tufted puffins via then they were horned puffins. Nikon D. 300 S. Nikon 300 F4 with 1.4 X. tele-converter F9 1/1000th. Handheld. Adjusted in light room and in Photoshop

Wow, a horned, tufted and Atlantic puffins all in one day. This is a very nice capture, Myer, with the bird headed toward us, with wings up and not obscuring face/bill. I don't see any detail in the blacks in the body, and perhaps there's something there to recover/lighten. Nice colours, sharpness and background.

What a lovely bird and good air pose! I agree about showing a bit of detail in the body. I had a try and it gives a lift and the eyes show up and give the bird a whole lot more character. Also a couple of sneaky dust bunnies.

nice pose and colours on this guy! agree on more detail needed in the body, and would try to move away from the squarish crop...

Beautiful pose and nice capture. My vote to lighten as well.

Beautiful bird with nice wing position and good sharpness. Love the tufts! I would have opened up a bit to bring out more detail in the darks. And I would crop some off the bottom.

Spectacular colors, bird and wing positions, lovely background. I like the reposted crop better. Ditto the need to coax some detail out of the blacks if it can be done. What a wonderful opportunity to see these birds.

Repost seems to introduce a halo, especially around the far wing. Did you resharpen this? There is also more noise in the bird, I think.

no re-sharpening other than what happens whenI convert for posting on BPN
