snow? sand?

In Socotra island(Yemen) the mountain of white sand are tall 280m. I thought to underline the black-white contrast.
zoom nikkor 70-210 matrix exposition I suppose landscape pr. tripod. Posttreatment: strong >saturation <brightness.

smoother shadow is not impossible within two days. I like the subject.

I like what you are looking to accomplish here and have an interpretation for you to consider. I cropped out some of the black, cloned out some of distractions in the black, white and blue areas and ran a very aggressive nose reduction on it that softened the image's features.
