Black-Crowned Night Heron, Wakodahatchee Wetlands, FL
I am pretty sure this is a juvenile BCNH. At first I thought it was injured as I have never seen one sitting in the water... and at 10 AM in the morning. Usually I see them early evening before sundown when they are wading along the shoreline. It was not injured...maybe it was just cooling off in the intense heat
