Al,

One of those images that makes you feel colder just looking at it.

Great exposure, I would never dream of +2 (never went over +1 in Svalbard) , but it works well.

Love the patch of snow on the nose.

Alfred,
One can feel the cold. What was the temperature? I prefer this look.

Cheers,

Like the snow on the nose and the surrounding snow in the scene. It does really look cold!

Hey Al, I would just love to 'drive' around on a snow mobile and capture images like this. Great look back pose, and love the snowy BG. Do I understand that snow normally gives off a slight blue cast, thus using a + EC helps to get it back to white.

Al, guess you metered off the snow close to the Elk set to M and + it? Looks a little startled or surprise?

Stuart, to my knowledge +EC will not reduce any blue cast, that can easily be done in PP.

Hi Stuart It is easy to correct the cast with curves, jsut select the bottom eye dropper and click in the snow To me it looks strange being warm since it is not how it looked. One way or the other is all taste !!

Temp wise I have no clue but it was close to forty below when I went to breaksfast, that was the first strong cold front we had first of the year !!!

Thanks for the feedback on the cast. I am aware of reducing casts in PS, but was just wondering if an +EC would have done the trick too.

Nice one Alfred. Color looks dead accurate to me. Nicely detailed as well. Did you use AF for this? I've found my 40D to have problems focusing through flying snow.

Hi Steve Not muc trouble focusing except for the snow !! With fairly hard snow will normally focus manually.

Thanks Alfred. Guess I'll have to aim between the flakes!
