Another capture of Mom and chick on Moosehead Lake. If you look at techs, not a millimeter to spare....

Model: Canon EOS-1D Mark IV
Lens (mm): 330
ISO: 3200
Aperture: 5.6
Shutter: 1/320

So beautiful Fab. Love the composition and the beautiful eye contact with both the baby and the Mom. Great low angle and the detail lighting and exposure is wonderful. The little blades of grass really add to the beauty and interest of this image. Sure wish this one was mine :):) my friend !!!!!!!!!

Fabs:

I like the composition, shooting angle, sharpness.
The breast on the adult is unusually gray. The light was obviously very low.

You sure made the most of your limited opportunities in Maine:D

Cheers

Randy

Despite the very low light you have created a wonderul image (but for the oddly gray breast).

Here's a repost with a lighter breast :) Thanks for pointing that out.
Processing a 3200 ISO image could be a challenge!

Fabs, Beautiful image with great interaction. The reeds really puts this over the top. Your handling & pp is wonderful.

I love the reeds and the nice exposure. Good job handling the high ISO.

Hi Fabs, super comp with both subjects well placed. I like the pose from mom, together with the low perspective. The surrounding reeds add interest.

excellent low angle Fabs, love the mood of mom and chick, processing is nice too, maybe just a tad too much NR since the chick feathers are a bit lacking...perfect overall TFS

Beautiful image Fabs, Loved the HA of both and the angle works well.. I also likes the grass in the water making this a nice setting.

Beautiful image Fabs...ditto on the HA, eye contact and the reeds....not only do I vividly remember those drab lit days on Moosehead Lake from years ago, I almost felt the morning chill when I saw this

I like the mood, composition and setting and it looks very good considering how little light you had available.

love the interaction of the looks between them, I am heading to the cottage tomorrow and will hopefully get a photo as good as this, she was still on the eggs 3 weeks ago so hopefully they are swimming now :D

The setting is nice.
The chest looks like you tried saving toasted whites or something.
I'm not sure what the master looks like, but it might be worth re-working if only have a few images like this.

Even in the repost much of the breast looks funky gray; was the bird stained? (The breasts of these birds are generally bright white.) Still a wonderful image.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I think the master file is OK, I just decided to play quick and dirty in the posting size, my bad.
Suggestions veery much appreciated.
