Hi

The magnificent Spectacled Caiman.

From jpeg PP using Topaz, Canon 40D 100-400 IS, handheld

This chap looked very interested in having a snack

Captured on the Rio Sarapiqui, Northern Costa Rica.

Taking off the top portion would help in the composition, as that would eliminate the bright sand and dark leaves. Eye contact is nice. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi

Might even take a fraction more off at the top Richard and remove the 'black' grass (?) in front of the nose too.

Think it looks better now? Would also use Highlight/Shadow to bring up more detail in the eye, only.

Well Rich, crop to 'pano' working from top left down, think you will be there?Just make sure you have slightly more water than space above so, soo 800 x 400 might need to be 800 x 500 perhaps?

Looks good to me. ;)

Hi Richard Big Difference between the original and last re post !!! Like the tighter version, eliminates all those bright tones at the top and concentrates on the animal !!! .. they look sort of like our Alligators but don't have as mid temper !!!

Hello Alfred

Yep been a good days tutorial and good advice has paid off; thanks to Steve of course.

Unfortunately I have several "cough" similar images, all of which will now have to be worked on lol

I would not advise swimming there

Rich - the final repost really looks good and is a big improvement. I've learned a lot from Steve's tips over the past couple of months. You're in good hands.

Rachel
