One of the bulls I've seen so far this summer... he gave an alert pose after hearing a noise off in the distance... captured in the Wasatch Mountains here in northern Utah...

7D @ 138mm (70-200 f/4)
1/100 f/5 iso800

Thanks for looking,
John

What a fine looking animal and the environment looks very rich and luxurious. Love the different flowers and the glow around the antlers. You have a nice POV for him and he is pretty well positioned in the frame. Very nice. TFS.

Nothing much I can add to the above comments, very good indeed!

Really like the color and the head turn. Also like how you can see a little white in the eye.

Wow, this is a moose and a half. Killer detail in the face and the fur. EXP perfect and I love the edge light on the antlers. At the very least this could have been improved by pointing the lens more to the left after focusing thus effectively moving the animal to our right in the frame. If the animal was stationary for a while, moving to your left might have yielded a better BKGR, one without the tree trunk(s) behind the head. All in all superb but it could have been still better.

All said above I guess, but I really like how the velvety glow around the antlers make them stand against a background that otherwise might have been to busy.
Lovely soft light too, and great expression on the animal.
Are moose always this dark in summer?

What an impressive specimen. Lovely light and I like the colour that the flowers add to the image.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone! Artie - I agree about that tree (and more space left)... ;)

Great suggestions from Artie. Will it to a new level. Guess that comes from years of taking photos. Still this post looks VG to me.
