At the very end of a productive trip to Longwood Gardens I was sitting on a bench resting before walking back to the visitors center. I looked over on my left and there was a pot filled with an unusual Begonia species. I loved the patterns in the leaves and took a few compositions. Heres one.
Nikon D300,200mm macro,F22,1/60,0 comp, tripod mtd.

Spendid! Good eye to see this, what a catch. I bet you had lots of beautiful comp choices with this too.

Beautiful one, Dave. Love the comp and texture. Any birds at Longwood Gardens? Or was your visit productive in other ways?

I like the comp and texture, color and density look right on. Also, I wonder how this might have benefitted from a polarizer.

Hi Bill, No birds to shoot at Longwood Gardens(only wild) It's a great place to shoot flowers and water lilies.
Jim, This might have benefited a bit by using a polarizer. If there was any glare it would be reduced. I generally don't use one when shooting macro.

Excellent Dave - strong image graphically with the centre pretty much right on a ROT.
Details and colours are excellent.
Congrats :)
