I made this at Nickerson Beach on a very hazy morning while the light was quite low.

Good pose and eye contact. I like the foam water - it adds a lot. On my monitor the very bottom has so little detail that I might crop off just a bit.

Really nice, Axel. You made very good use of the light that you had. Love the swirling water around his feet.

I like the angle of the OC, and overall sharp, and well exposed. Lovely soft light and pastel colours in the BG.

Nice image, overall, and agree with others. Would also like to comment on the "walking position" of his/her legs, like it's out for a stroll along the beach (which, I guess, it is). Nice head turn/position, and good detail in blacks and whites.

Very nice capture, oh I know that light. Not sure if warming up a notch would help. Chicks fledged?
The ones here be gone...

Thanks, Fabs! I don't mind the soft light but the haze makes the blacks look rather gray in-camera. I also noticed that the reds look much better on a wide gamut monitor compared with the laptop I'm on right now.

This Oystercatcher was looking for food for the little ones.

Did you see the new iMac?

Yes, it's great that you can now have parallel SSD and regular HDD, although I prefer 16x10 monitors. I have a 24'' ACD, which I really like but my MacBook Pro is a bit underpowered for PS. The new 6-core Mac Pro looks good, too, but it is probably $3.5k and does not have USB 3.0 or faster Firewire yet.

exp and colors look good to me, nice details. I would have preferred the bird slightly more parallel to camera. TFS

I love the contrast between the light background and the dark head and bright red bill. Well done in difficult light conditions.
