Kostas, I like those sharp, prickly spines mixed with the soft, green leaves; it really adds a nice textural balance to the image. I do think the BG is a bit dark for my taste - what time of day did you make this image? Was there any way to add in more light to get the BG to be a bit softer?

May also consider just blackening the BG.

hi Julie , i took this image in the middle of the day with a lot sun , and flash in as the sun was across my face , here there a lot sun and heat those days .

Hey Kostas,
The trick to flash is balance.....in this case I don't think you allowed enough natural light....going to ISO 200 or 400.....and powering the flash down.....would allow for a better balance. Nick's idea in this case.....is also a good one to explore.

thanks u let me know Roman , to tell u the truth i dont know a lot of flash as 1st , have a flash ( i use of the camera ) and 2nd i havent try a lot times , thanks for the reply and help :)

Wonderful! I can feel those pricklers. I like the slightly lighter BG behind the branch. I don't mind the dark nature of the image. I'd clone out the little broken stem in lower left corner. Nice job.
