Here's a photo of a captive silver- backed gorilla I took at a zoo. Finally got him to look my way after several kids walked by and started teasing him. I like the red hair and eye contact. Looks like a death stare to me. Never thought about it until I PP the image.

Canon EOS-1D, EF 500 mm. f/4.0 lens, Canon 1.4 TC, Canon 550 EX flash and my Bogen tripod.

Excellent portrait with the strong eye contact/expression Hate seeing them guys in the zoo but the way they are going in the wild its a good thing !! ... might take a little of the top!!!

Nice strong image. Only wish for a little more separation between the gorilla and the grey bg. Great expression and capture.

Thanks for the kind comments. Gorillas are fun to watch playing with their offspring. This guy would throw his baby around. Every time it came back to its arms the process would repeat again. I was amazed such a powerful primate could be so gentle with the parenting process.
