The juvenile Kea has yellow on his/her beak.
Pentax K10D & Tamron 70-300 @ 133mm.
Summer 1.15 pm.
400 ISO 1/750 @ F5.6.
No EV adjustment
Cropped tight @ rear of bird due to another bird distraction.
Comments welcome.

I must be getting old.....I thought I posted a comment earlier.....guess I forgot to hit the "post" button. There's nice detail in this guy. It's a little too tight.....but I understand your reasoning. Are these birds the "bad boys" notorious for getting into things? I don't know if there's just so much green in the image that it's confusing my eyes/brain ( probably not hard to do these days) or if there's a green cast to the image. I'll see what others say.

Lana you are quite correct this is the New Zealand alpine parrot that loves dismantling cars at ski sites !!!
I don't think there is a green cast as feather colour and eye colour look right but will have another look at small adjustments.

Affirmative Artie.
This is a large walk-thro' aviary with a stream going thro' it with Black Swans,Barbary Doves, Crested Pigeons and Grey Teal also there.
Most of the time the keas are in hiding in deep shade but they come out for a while @ feeding time around 1PM.
You have to watch your shoe laces and backpacks otherwise they'll undo them.
They love to be spoon fed for tour groups with a spoonfull of honey.

A beautiful bird Ian I like the original post better. I do wish for a lower angle but sometimes its just not possible... Nice Shot!!!
