I wanted to keep more of the stick but because of the angle, most of it was OOF. I probably should have gone to f16 or even smaller but I was overly cautious because of the wind.

I don't like the bit of junk on the left side of the branch but cloning it away would leave a wing rebuilding job that I don't feel like dealing with right now. :)

Ken,

I like the square format & colors on this one. Understand the issue of wind. That's what I deal with every day. Thanks for sharing...

Nice comp and colours...the red squares at the wing corners are amazing! Those wings look painted (in a good way!), especially the yellow and orange lines. The perch is a bit thick, but very nice image overall.

Beautiful wing structure and colors against the sky, good dof. Nice one!

I like the different perspective here, Ken - looking up from below. It really makes the small red rectangles in the wings pop. Also a good way to get a clean background. Well done.

Hey Ken,
I too like the unusual angle of view. I'm not lovin' the perch.....not so much because of OOF....more thickness.....but whadayagonnado? Very cool idea on the angle.....know it won't be a problem for you to get another one soon!

Nice perspective Ken. I like the diagonal of the dragonfly. A different kind of view for sure.

I think the angle makes this one sing, Ken! The diagonal lines of the insect in the frame and that wonderful full frontal view of his face - it really engages me! Beautiful blue BG as well. It screams summer!

I snapped off this big stick and left the other smaller ones that surround it. Blue Dashers are already using the smaller sticks so I may have to settle for a shot of one of those.
