http://i848.photobucket.com/albums/ab47/BlackabyssTales/nature/caper.jpgIt's not often you get to photograph a Capercaillie in full sunlight (not in Scotland anyway) so I was delighted to find this bird displaying at mid-day. Unfortunately he had suffered some feather damage (I think he had been scratching at ticks, you can just about see one on this image).

First post so apologies if I haven't done it properly:confused:

You seem to have a good pose in good light here, Colin. It is hard to assess the image at such as small size especially when so much area is used up with the broad black frame. Adding technical details will also improve your chances of constructive feedback.

They are both showing now. Very nice bird, in display and a hint of habitat. Not sure I like the black frame, I thin it takes away from the image. But that is personal taste.
I'm not familiar with the bird, so not sure if the blacks should be a bit darker?

Hi Colin Try sizing to at least 800 pixels, makes it easier to evaluate .. need any help let me know !!

Like the pose, exposure and seems sharp Some grass got in the way at the bottom, hard to tell effect with small size Also would post without the black frame .. neat looking bird !!
