I don't mid the black background at all, in fact, I think it's very becoming.
What bothers me is the shadow across the left flower :(

Good eye, maybe some flash would have helped? Mixed light is really treacherous!

I get the same feel Only the shadow bothers me The composition is great and dark bg very appealing I like the image very much !!!!
