I always end up shooting the same views of tiny critters so this time I decided to be different, I strapped on the 14mm and got in there close. It's different.

John, I love it when people step out of their comfort zones so good for you! I like where you are going with this but think you got jinxed by some pretty harsh lighting. If the overall lighting were softer I think this would be a wonderful image. As it is, I'd crop the darker areas from both the left and right and let the two main flowers/insects carry the image.

I agree with Julie about the harsh light. Hope you try this with soft light--overcast or early or late in the day. Good to try new approaches.

Hey John,
I'm with the ladies on the light but I do like the WA viewpoint! If these are yours.....you may wnat to try moving/rearranging some of the BG or FG flowers to even further strengthen the comp. Live view can really help when composing!
