I haven't been out for a couple weeks, since this was taken. I hesitated to post because of the odd look of the water in the background -- I'm not sure why it is "splotched" white and blue (it is untouched in PP). The weather was pretty good, as I recall. All PP is minimal.

Hey Wendell. Nice exposure, and light you have here. Good head turn and colors as well. If possible, a lower angle would really help in obtaining a more distant and pleasing
BG.

Looking forward to more!

Wendall, I love the head turn and agree that lower angle, if possible, would have been ideal. Looks like a very elegant bird :)
Best,
Nicki

The white and blue "splotches" you refer to look like shells and vegetation at the bottom of the water. A lower angle would have also minimized their impact on the image. As is the white ones would be easy to eliminate with the patch and clone tools. Good pose from the curlew, and you nailed the exposure.

Great angle and comp. IMG is well exposed with good detail and exposure. Well done !
