It's always hard to get decent images of Giraffe, however as much as I'd like to have had the middle Giraffe clear, I was quite happy with the BG and subsequent 3D effect provided by the 300 f/2.8.
Upon reflection, a touch more DOF (and lower ISO) would have been appropriate.

D2Xs 300VR 1/1000s ISO500@f/2.8 Sth Luangwa NP- Zambia Sept '07 (1 round of Imagenomic NR selectively used on BG as the D2X@ISO500 was no D3!)

C & C most welcome

Cheers
Marc

Marc,

You have hit the nail on the "head" here:D

The absence of a part of the middle head greatly reduces the impact of this image.

Otherwise very sharp and great colours in these Thornicrof'ts Giraffe, which you can find nowhere else.

Hi Marc, nice to see them like this, but would like to have seen all the face of the middle one as it slightly detracts for me, sorry.

To me, there looks like a slight yellow cast to it. If you go to levels, Blue channel and move the rh slider to the left, I think it gives a cleaner look? But only a thought.

Steve ;)

I like this Marc but must agree with Ken re the middle head. Well done to get all sharp with that aperture.
