The only passerine species we saw at our Svalbard trip was the Snow Bunting, here a male really showing off in full summer plumage.

Feel free to comment...

Hi, I liked the pose a lot. You were dealing with tough light condition....from the side ligthing the white parts. But I still like the light. BG is gorgeous. I am not sure about the vertical crop....the OOF bottom part of the rock is distracting. I think a horizontal will make it better....will reduce the size of the perch and remove that OOF part.

Great to see one in full breeding plumage. I like the look-back pose, perch, sharpness and BG. I might try to lighten the part of the plumage that is not sunlit and remove the blue color cast on the whites there. A slight crop off the bottom and right might work, too.

I love this as presented - do not see a colour cast and I am a fan of side-lighting! I love the muted colours too :)

Hi Daniel, Lovely pose and I also like the side lighting, I would crop from the bottom eliminating some of the perch so it is not as dominate in the frame as is I find it overpowering the subject.

Nice to see one so sharp and with those details. Do have the details of the shot/equipment?

I'm with Nicki on this one as I think it is a gorgeous shot of a wonderful bird I've never seen and the background and perch are perfect. Well done.

Thanks for your comments and input.

It is taken with D700, 600/4 VR and TC 1.4x and the light in the arctic regions are like this almost 24/7 this time of the year. The sun sets a little more, but not much :D
