Hey Ken,
I like the way the coneflower comes out of the corner sweeping up with the BF on top. Looks like the coneflowe ris sharp so perhaps another round of USM on the BF head and eye (Avain trick). Only recommendation is to possibly smooth out the stems in the lower frame portion.....otherwise the light and comp were very well handled!

Good capture. I like the composition, light, colors. Roman has some good suggestions. A general question: Do you manually focus for this type of shot?

Roman, I already did some extra heavy sharpening on the head and eyes but it doesn't seem to help as much on this species as it does on others because the eye and the head are the same color.

Anita, I used auto focus on this and generally use auto focus when I'm shooting with the tele lenses. When I'm shooting with the 100mm macro, it depends on the subject whether out not I choose to focus manually.

Hi Ken, Love the comp colors and smooth BG. Agree with Roman on the BF so I used smart sharpen at amount 40 and radius 1 then used a layer mask to apply it to the BF only.

Nicely done on the opening post AND the repost. Ken, the colors here are what really draws my eye in. They are light and cheery and almost as whimsical as the face of the butterfly. It's a delightful image to look at. :)

Love the image Ken....nothing to add to what has already been said.

Super image, I have reduced the highlights - this is my take on it: I went into Shadows/Highlights and reduced the highlights.
