Hey Bob, nice looking subject, good details, I would do a very slight crop on the top and right side. Seems dark but I'm viewing this on a netbook, so not the best to judge image quaility.

Neat plant Bob. I like your DOF, the greens look pretty saturated tome, but I'm no expert. I like Mike's idea about cropping.

I also think a more vertical crop would strengthen this. I'd clone out the small dead leaf on the bottom of the bud. I'd also do some more sharpening on the bud head as it feels a bit softer than it should in places. I love what you've captured here, though...the take off of a brand new flower! And who doesn't love aliums? :D

Hey Bob,
Colors look fine on my monitor but you could go with a midtone lightening if you want and see which you like better. I'm all for the RH crop....but just a a bit off the top as the others recommended. At f10....yeah....kind of expect the quick falloff......but it is sharp where it needs to be. I think you handled this very well and the small crop will just strengthen it!

I love these buds and am glad to see you photographed one. The above suggestions seems excellent. I might brighten it up a bit and clean up that front petal (?) just a bit. You did an excellent job with the BG.
