Golden-hooded Tanager (Costa Rica)

I've been seeing some nice images from the tropics and thought I'd post one of my favorites from a few years back in Costa Rica. This Golden-hooded Tanager (or in Spanish siette colores - "seven colors") was coming in to feed at this fruiting shrub. I was really happy to get a nice clean frame of him. Anyone who has shot in the tropics knows that getting sharp frames at 1/50th of a second is a constant challenge.

Colorful bird nicely captured Glenn. I like the colors and crisp details of the bird. BG is buttery and does not detract..simple, non busy a plus. The only thing that I wonder about is the OOF flowers/berries ?? It's distracting and makes me a bit dizzy. Not sure if it would have worked better if they all were blurred...or all in focus, but the small circlular shaped blurred and sharp flowers really cause some movement...and I find this distracting from that beautiful bird. Nice job as a whole.

The blurring doesn't bother me...probably caused by the bird's weight.
