As a change to photographing the Hummingbirds I had a go chasing these birds feeding in a nearby tree, the colours are incredible. Like most tropical rainforest birds the main difficulty is getting a clear view in the first place. BG highlights have been toned down in PS

Canon 1D Mk111, 500mmf4L plus TC1.4 on tripod. EXP. 1/60th @ f10, ISO 800

beautiful soft light.,pose and details...I would prefer a cleaner bg

Excellent detail and color in this shot. I think you did a good job of seperating the bird from the busy BG...especially with the BG containing mostly the same colors of the bird.

Manos, That's the natural habitat! Clean BGs are few and far between in the rainforest, even finding the bird is a problem. As Kurt commented, the bird's colours echo the BG colours and even such a relatively large bird will blend in remarkably well.

A very nice toucanet and picture! Love the habitat, is traditional of the cloud forest (after seen the moss). Nice light as well.

Nice pose, very sharp and I like the overall verdant quality of the image.
