I also think the dof here works. The only thing that bothers me, probably just my personal taste, is the green background showing in some gaps on the right.

This is beautiful, Bob, but I think compositionally it could be stronger. If you had tilted the camera a bit making the base of the flower rest more in the LRC and then filled the frame with 2/3 flower and 1/3 green BG I think that would have pushed this one over the top for me! Very nice exposure and the selective dof seems spot on!

Hey Bob,
Light is spot on and even the DOF is OK with me because you have the focus where it needs to be! I'm with Jules on the comp though.....the suggestions she mentioned would make this even a bit stronger for me too. I do like that you chose a different presentation.....not the easiest flower to pull this off with!

The colors are lovely! The focus is where it needs to be--good job. Just as an idea, here is a version rotated a bit clockwise and brightened up with curves and contrast.
