The upper cedar waxwing was passing a tiny green worm to the lower one, something I hadn't observed before. Grand Manan, NB, 6-14-10.

Techs: 7D, 700 mm, ISO 400, f/8, 1/500. Post: Slight vertical crop, NR on BG, USM on birds.

C&C appreciated.

nice interaction, shutter speed was a bit low and the birds are a bit blurry as a result, wish you had raised the ISO for faster ss.

Cool interaction and I like the diagonal composition. Ditto arash's comments. Many thanks for sharing Keith.

Nice photo, i woulduse f5.6 because a canon 500 f4 + 1.4x is sharp wide open.
Using f5.6 you would have 1/1000 as speed.
As well you could use iso like 600 or 800....

The interaction is great, I thought they only pass berries. I also like the BG and might remove the branch sticking out of the upper bird's side. Is this a parent feeding a juvenile? It looks like the one at the top is doing the fledgling's wing flap.

Agree with the tech suggestions, but an nice behaviour image nonetheless. I've seen this a few times with waxwings, but usually with berries...and always way to high or hidden in foliage.
