Hi everyone!

I just got back from 7 weeks on the road. What a trip! It is hard to pick a favourite bird or photographic highlight. There were simply too many :)

During the bird photography workshop that I was co-leading up in Churchill we had some incredible opportunities and I will post lots of those later. I wanted to start with my absolute favourite bird from up in Churchill - the gorgeous Pacific Loon.

I can see why this is a favorite of yours, a gorgeous specimen. A beauty Glenn.

Love the beautiful variegated BG and the loon is beautiful with excellent detail. The velvety water also adds to the overall beauty of this image. Outstanding Glenn. Would love to see these beautiful birds one day. :):)

Great colours Glenn, good POV another bird I would love to photograph.

Any suggestions around Ucluelet or Tofino mid September? Although I did contact Adrian D as you suggested so he might too know some locations. :)

Thanks
Steve

Hi Glenn, cool species which I would love to photograph. Great low angle, good contrast and nice BG. Although I am watching this on my work monitor now I am positive I saw a colour cast on my monitor at home (recently calibrated apple cinema screen) as well. I think it must be a red or magenta cast. Probably due to the canon body, I always have a slight red/magenta cast in every picture taken with my 7D or 50D bodies. Easy enough to get rid of and this shot surely deserves it!

Cheers,

Krijn
