Bob and Denise also had posts of this day old chick. I liked this pose with its parent. After walking and tripping for several minutes it was time for a rest.
The direct look of the chick and the "proud parent look" (or so it seems to me) reminds me of going to Sears for a family portrait. :)

Great image, pose perfect for a family photo. Great HA on both birds. I also like the sand color here a lot.
Excellent detail in the red bill and blacks, the whites are bit flat, did you recover them?
Very nice one.

Everything looks fine to me. Nice detail in the blacks and the neutrals. Nice pose by the baby. They both look quite relaxed :)

Allan, Very nice sharp details. I like the exposure and the chick looks so sweet cuddled up to the adult.

Great head angle for the adult and nice EXP for both blacks and whites. It seems a bit tight in the frame for me on all four corners, but this is less important for web presentation that it is on a print.

This is really a sweet image, Alan. What appeals to me most is that the chick is tucked in, looks safe and relaxed.

Very sweet. Fabs has covered my only comment re tightness in the frame. Shows off the iris spot well. Good job.

Thanks for the comments. I liked the expressions on the two birds - that is what made it for me.
Fabs - I was using the 1.4 tc to capture shots of the chick - still small in the frame. I could have taken it off for more room when the chick got with the big parent. :) I agree I could use a bit more room.
