Hey Morten, very neat capture! I like the balanced composition following the ROT. I also like how you show a lot of the environment, without making it too dominant. I would tone down the big bright spot just above the bumblebee, it distracts from the bee itself.

Hey Morten, love the sharp details on the bee. I am having a bit of trouble getting around that OOF flower in the LLC, though. My eye goes back there again and again. If possible, exploring multiple angles while the bee is hovering around is the best way to get one you really like all the way around. In this case, going higher up behind the flower or more to the right would have helped.

Super details on the bee, though. Catching them in flight like that is no small feat!

Hi Morten,
A flight shot of a bee is very difficult and given your settings.....you did very well. The key to bee images is the angle of the bee and its position.....there you have done well also although an angle sligtly towards you would only improve this even more. I do agree that the LLC does intrude and find that a crop from the bottom...just above the bright area only strengthens the comp and relationship of the bee to flower. I do also think Jerry's suggestion on the brighter area is a good one.....if you are OK with such things.
On a final note...using a bit of flash at very low power would have opened up some of the darker areas on the bee. Just some things to consider for the rest of the season!

Hi Morten, much better! The attention is now fully on the bumblebee. I did like the little bit of room to the left of the rose in the original, though. By the way, I think you are allowed to repost in the same thread.

Morten, catching a bee in-flight and getting it sharp is no easy task! A different angle might look better but it's not like you can move around for a better angle when a bee is flying by. I like the repost with the bottom cropped but I agree with Jerry that you should have left some space on the left side of the rose.

Excellent shot - particularly your repost, I am amazed at the detail in the bumble bee.
