Welcome to BPN. Nice try on the first post. Side lighting was the issue here, creating a shadow on the right side.
Not sure what your shooting situation was.

Thx for the comments. The harsh light was very from left side. I will try to improve next time.

Could you have moved to the left for this shot? Light looks fine and soft, it is more of the angle of the light.
Keep trying.

As pointed out, the light angle is the main issue here...having moved well left, if possible and without spooking the ibis, would have been your best bet. You did expose best you could with that situation. Another thing to wacth out for is HA (head angle). Here you can see that it is angled away from you...with this pose, parallel to you would have been ideal.

Great advice given so far! Some might comment on the specular highlits on the bill. With a bill this large in the frame, it's slightly distracting.
