Today the bumblebees were out gathering pollen
Nikon D300s Nikon micro 85 mm. picture cropped, BG adjusted with vieza
85mm
127mm (in 35mm film)
1/1250 sec, f/8
Mode: Manual
Metering: Multi-segment
ISO: 400
AF mode: AF-C
White balance: AUTO
Flash: Off

Nice capture Myer, bees never seem to sit still very long....If this was my image I might, lighten it a bit and run it through NR one more time but again its only me...

A pleasing image I suspect there will be polarised views regarding the background, purely from a personal preference I would like to have seen a lighter backdrop.

Myer, I like the black BG but I think there's a little too much of it up top. I also like the flower but not the OOF area at the bottom. If this were mine, I'd crop from the top and bottom and then I'd lighten the flower / bee without taking away from the black in the BG.

I agree with Julie regarding cropping out the top and buttom. Great detail on flower and bee. The black BG gives it impact.

Hey Myer,
Repost goes in the right direction.....but in doing the BG you have lost the wings of the bee.....an important element for me.....it just seems odd presented this way for my tastes.
