One of the more interesting and sought after birds on the arctic tundra are the female Grey (or red, as they are called in the US) Phalarope.

Photographed at Svalbard (arctic Norway) in early June.

Super low angle, and I like the pose. Not a species Ive seen before, and I like the light and colours. The reflection of the water on the lower chest area adds interest. This is nice and sharp too.
