At first I thought this bird was an American goldfinch, as it was feeding yesterday in a thistle patch with others that were obvious goldfinches.

My initial take was that it might be a female American Goldfinch. However the long tail feathers and relative longer and thin body profile make me doubt my initial ID.

I'd appreciate the opinion of the experts ! :)

I'd go with a female Baltimore Oriole. Not 100% sure though

Looks like a female Orchard Oriole to me.

I agree with Axel - the slightly downcurved bill and the lack of orange tones on the underparts suggest female Orchard, not Baltimore.

Thanks Aidan, Axel and Richard !

It all makes sense to me now -- orchard oriole female !

Her size threw me off, as I thought she was rather small for an oriole.

Thanks for the guidance on this one. :)
