From last February. I found this cooperative mute swan and decided to try and capture the many textures in the head and neck of this common bird. It turned out to be an image that I really like, but not sure what I would ever use it for other than to just look at and study.

Uncropped, removed a couple dust spots, a little eye work, sharpened.

Grace, Exceptional detail! Great eye, colors, and BG.
For my taste, a bit tight on the top - but just fine as is.

A bit tight for me too, but details are exquisite! Well done Grace. :)

I like the exposure and sharp detail, and more space all around would have made this special.

Hi Grace - I like the crop as is, great detail. I read somewhere recently that the function of photography is to get people to look. I think that is exactly what this image does - it allows the viewer to really look at the swan and the details of the feathers, the bill, that lovely clump that mute swans have. I also love the subtle tones in the bg. I bet a decent sized print of this image would be quite impressive.
Cheers
