These stamen looked as though they were standing for morning roll call. Captured at Longwood Gardens. I removed a shadow from the LLC and did a touch of noise reduction and sharpening, along with contrast and blacks adjustments in Lightroom.
Canon 50D, 100mm 2.8 macro, 1/60 sec @ f/11, ISO 100, 0 ev, Evaluative metering, tripod mounted, natural light

Such a beautiful image...you really kept those yellows in check and I love the varying amounts of focus on the different stamen. Cropwise I might take a small slice off the top - especially to smooth out that URC. Everything else looks fantastic!

Hey Dave,
While I like the concept and what you saw.....I am going to disagree with the above.....mostly because of the 4th stamen from the right. Now I know you were at Longwood.....so pruning not allowed:).....but if that one wasn't there.....this would be perfect!....as presented.....and considering the difficulty of your environment....excellent!

As always, I appreciate your thoughts Roman. I can hardly imagine my fate if I had snipped that particular stamen at Longwood :eek:. To be honest though, that bit of conjestion did not register with me at the time :(. Something more to consider in the future and a bit more logged into the growth category :D
