for me the biggest benefit is knowing that I help support a great community :) few websites provide such useful critique

Adding to Jamie's points, you can upload images to the BPN server, have an album for some of your favorite images, and you are eligible for 'image of the week' and 'image of the year'.

probably be worthwhile to have a post somewhere that answers this question, maybe there is one but I dont recall seeing it :)
