Thijs, I'd take a bit off the top so the insect is higher up in the frame. Lovely BG and good details on the insect. Too bad that one antenna was OOF so much. Not a deal breaker but would have been a big bonus to get them both in the focal plane. ;)

Hi Thijs,
I like Jules idea of taking a bit off the top.....if you use the browser and scroll you will get a good idea of how it looks with the crop. I'm OK with this as presented because the BG is great but did you try sacrificing some SS for more DOF? Not sure how quick the bug moved but figured I'd ask.
Very nicely done overall and the small crop will further strengthen this IMO.

Thanks for the comments!
I made two different crops. What do you think?
Oh en what does SS en IMO mean?

Thijs, very nicely captured, sharp where it has to be, like the 2nd vertical crop...other missing antenna can easily be copied and cloned

As the others, I like the second vertical crop the best considering the subject placement in the frame. Since you used a tripod, I'm wondering if you could have used a narrower aperture to squeeze more DOF in the lower abdomen area.
