Toned down the flower a lot. I'm not thrilled with the look of the flower in the foreground. Should I have cropped tighter?

Hey Ken,
My vote is definitely yes! I'd imagine that your red channel was spiked/clipped on the reds.....had to for the skipper details. This may have been a good time to explore flash as main light too.....just some food for thought next time out. Crop this one on the bottom and you still have a very nice keeper!

My vote is also yes on the crop.
And I think a desaturation of the red and yellow channels on the flower
should make the colors calmer.

Agree with others. I like the butterfly, the eye is sharp and the BG is nice.

I totally agree with the others. I'd crop the lower two rows of the petals out and leave just the top row and flower center. Lovely skipper image, Ken!

Lovely shot Ken. The crop is even better but I think the magenta is too desaturated in the repost and prefer the colours in the first.:)

Ken, I like the repost. Puts more attention on the b'fly.
