I loved the feet on this little guy!

Ian, nice pose with the feet visible!
The busy BG doesn't help focus on the bird here, but does provide for a nice environmental shot.
Seems quite soft; a large crop? and it's tough to hand-hold the big lenses.
Cheers -

Hi Ian Great critique by Sandy Agree on all points and can add that would have been nice having softer light !!

... outrageous feet for that little guy !!! :)

Hi Ian - agree with the above - to my eyes looks like the point of focus was not n the bird - hence the softness evident there - part of the log seems to be sharper.

Like the feet - the harsh light is not ideal.

Keep em coming.

Nice pose and I like that you were able to catch the little guy up on the log.

If mine, I might be tempted to crop out the water in front of the log.

Hi Ian,good points made above! This is probably a large crop due to you being a good distance away from the subject. At 5.6 your depth of field was probably extended due to the distance from the subject and the muck not fully blurred.
Light is everything in photography and the better the light the more detail and overall appeal your image will have....
