Hi Ian, nice mood the the image and you were fortunate to have a sharp image at 1/125 sec from a moving train.
I like the diagonal of the river and the fact you minimalised the sky. The image looks like it's tilting left(look at large tree on left) and I might try some CW rotation...

Thanks, Dave. I hadn't noticed that tilt (grrrrrrr!) although I wonder if it is some sort of perspective distortion as the central trees look ok to me. I'll have to try rotating it when I get home from work and see what it looks like.

Hey Ian,
I personally am debating the overall sharpness......while it may not be tack....due to movement or f8.......this does have an excellent mood to it.....almost has an Orton like quality about it.......which I happen to like in this case. I would have preferred a hair more sky.....to get the central tree in entirely......but it isn't too distracting to the overall comp. Nice job using the river on the diagonal to aid the flow of the comp too!

i cant say it any better than roman. the mood is over the top!! the rotation is what i first noticed. i'd evict that center tree up top when you fix that. nice job from the train!!

Sometimes things come together to make an image you don't expect. The problems with shooting from the train at 1/125th sec created image softness that as Roman mention works well here. Agree with evicting that top center tree.
