Found this nice little dune with the wind sweeping of it, waited for the sun to highlight the sand against the dark background, the result quite dramatic

I agree, quite dramatic. I like that you left a lot of room at top as it fuels the feeling of isolation and being the only one there witnessing this scene. Well done.

Fantastic image, Ken. Great control over the exposure and nicely composed. The negative space really adds a great feel to this image.

Hi Ken,love the lighting which makes for a dramatic presentation.
I will be a bit contrarian. I think there is too much neg space and I would crop some from the top and still have the same feel to the image. Thats what makes the world go round!
Your patience paid off and captured a unique image!!

Hey Ken,
I too think you could take some of the negative space off and not lose the look or feel.......which is very dramatic. Great job waiting for the light....was well worth it!

Ken,
Beautiful image as presented, a bit off of the top would help but either way I really like the the light beam getting larger as the the sand dune gets higher and the soft light on the right side to give the eye something to follow ...

something different - well executed...I agree on losing just a tad from the top
