I thought about getting higher to eliminate the OOF foreground but I liked the effect of having the female Tern partially obscured by the OOF shells. After seeing Sid's images I wish I would have worked the higher angle :)

40D, 500 f/4, 1/1600 at f/8, Manual Mode, ISO 400, Raw, Tripod, medium crop and cloned out OOF dark spot

excellent exposure and nice details, interaction is super. just wish for a bit higher angle.

Good self-critique here. Higher was definitely better. That plus a better head angle for the female. SH and EXP perfect. I am confused by what looks like a shadow on the cheek of the male....

Artie, Thanks for your comments it is a shadow from the eye socket the image was made when me and Sid first got to the colony around 5pm and the sun was still a little high in the sky. I thought about removing it but left it in to see if others would notice of course your sharp eyes caught it:)

Well, I am not so sure about my sharp eyes :) but that is what I thought. The quality of the light however is loverly. You must have had a bit of haze....

Hi Stuart, Go to canvas check the relative box and type in .07 in both the width and height and pick black for canvas color then size for web.
