Barred Owl Portrait

Hi Everyone,
Caught this barred owl resting just off of the highway in the bush on Friday. Found him from the mobbing of the other birds in the area.

Stats: Canon 50D, 500mm + 1.4X ISO 800, F/8 at 1/30 sec.

I like the soft light, eye contact and inclusion of the habitat and I might only lighten the eyes a bit more.

Nice shot, love the upright pose and detail, typical west-coast habitat compliments the bird.
Lightening the eyes a bit might be nice but they are quite dark anyways.

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for the nice comments on this one. Seems to be a whole lot of these guys in the area right now. Normally they can be a bit wary of humans but the last two that I encountered were quite tame. Only regret that I could not be fast enough to catch this guy in action as he was a great snake hunter and went for a snake snack about every half an hour or so :D.
